Google Cyber Attack – China Plays Blame Game

China has categorically denied any state involvement in Operation Aurora, the series of cyber attacks that rocked Google and several other technology companies earlier this year. This is in response to United States President Barack Obama’s comment where he mentioned that he was “troubled” by Google’s claims of a Chinese hand in the recent cyber attacks.

Google says it has already faced enough trouble with China over censorship issues and is now threatening to stop all operations in China. China has smartly passed the buck to United States claiming that US is the world’s first country to launch cyber warfare. It has also accused US of adopting double standards and has strongly urged US not to interfere on issues related to internet freedom in China.

Whatever be the truth, these cyber attacks have taken their toll on the deteriorating US-China ties and Google’s No Love Lost Tryst with China. It seems to me that the Cyber World War is just around the corner!
