After categorically denying any involvement in the recent cyber attacks on Google, China has signalled its intent to improve its deteriorating relations with Google. In a recent press release, China has indicated that it would welcome Google Android without any restrictions.

Google had postponed its smartphone launch in China after its announcement that it would not censor search results. Going a step further, Google had even threatened to pull out of China and halt all its operations if the Chinese Government continued to show an indifferent behaviour towards the technology heavyweight.

A Chinese Government Official went on record to say that Google’s Android is Welcome in China as long as it fulfils Chinese laws and regulations. This is clearly a move to pacify the storm that has rocked China – Google’s relationship. Google has been at the receiving end for quiet some time now and I hope this is one of the many initiatives taken by China to help settle the dispute amicably!
