A report was released by Consumer Focus, a consumer rights group in UK which pleads the UK government to rethink and redo its strategy related for nationwide roll-out of broadband internet, if it wants to bring the internet to have a 100% reach in UK.
It reports that the people without a broadband connection face a number of obstacles when it comes to getting a broadband connection.
It reveals that a mere 29 % of households with an yearly income of £11,000 or less, have a broadband connection at home and are unable to save up to £560 per year from paying their bills online and shopping on the internet.
Consumer Focus wants the government to devise strategies to bring those impoverished households on board and explain to them the benefits of having a broadband connection. Whether this will work or not remains to be seen.
