If you own a Blackberry Storm 2 or a Blackberry Bold 2, you can now catch up on all the world news courtesy the new BBC iPlayer. To be honest, I’m surprised at what took RIM and BBC so long to release the iPlayer for Blackberry. To be fair, it’s now the case of ‘Better Late, than never’.
The BBC iPlayer offers a fantastic option to Blackberry users to access streaming TV and radio shows and stay up to date with news all over the world. Right now, the BBC iPlayer is available on Vodafone and 3-Mobile 3G networks. For all other networks, the app can be downloaded using handset’s Wi-Fi capabilities.
iPlayer can be accessed from your handset’s browser and there’s no need to download an app. However, the Blackberry users face a massive disadvantage that unlike other users (Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung), they can not download the content for viewing at a later time.
Despite all these restrictions, the iPlayer is a great way to stay informed of news happenings all around the world, and watch the latest episode of ‘Enders. I’d strongly recommend that you try it out for yourself.
