Intel, the world’s largest chip maker saw its share trading halted for a few hours during after hours trading earlier last week when its joint head of Architecture Group, Sean Maloney, suffered a stroke at his home, this outlines his value and importance to the company who is regarded as by many as a potential successor to CEO Paul Otellini.
Wedbush Morgan analyst termed him “as the heart and soul of Intel marketing,” with a good grasp of technology, which may have helped him oversee some of the biggest Intel successes like Core, Centrino and Atom campaigns.
Maloney has a close to 3o years association with Intel , he joined Intel in Europe in 1982, and over the years have worked in various managerial positions . He was incharge of Intel’s mobile division in 2004 and became associated with the company’s wireless Internet efforts.
