GiffGaff is a ‘people powered’ mobile operator, running on the o2 network here in the UK. Last night they launched an updated website, with their brand new tariffs.
Among these new price-plans is a very exciting £35 a month for unlimited everything: calls, texts, data. On top of the already great perks offered by these guys (free GiffGaff-to-GiffGaff calls/texts, free data until 25th May), this makes GiffGaff a very compelling choice.
GiffGaff don’t sell any handsets – they are a pay-and-go sim-only operator. They do provide an optional automatic monthly top-up system though, so this could work out better than being tied into an 18/24 months contract.
It’s absolutely free to order a SIM card from their website, and they offer a cash-back scheme for referrals. If you order SIM cards for your friends, or refer them to GiffGaff via e-mail, you’ll be rewarded with points, which can then be used as credit, donated to a charity of your choice, or sent to you as cash. With rewards at around £5 per referral, it’s easy to earn a few months credit and help your friends out at the same time.
GiffGaff are also the only UK network to allow free calls to 0800 numbers. Something o2 stopped doing recently. More information on the new pricing structure is available here.
