Picplz, which is a location-centric photo streaming service which lets users share images of of people, places, or some combination of the two is soon launching its beta app for Android mobile phones.
Picplz comes from Mixed Media Labs which is the new startup created by Imeem executives Bryan Berg, Dalton Caldwell and Ali Aydar, think of picplz as a photo-based Gowalla or Foursquare, users can use it as a publishing tool for a photo stream like flickr and the fast catching Twitpic, but its standouts when you access the service via a mobile device. It is integrated with Foursquare to assign a location to your photo and then check in, the photos are then published on the Picplz site, Facebook and Twitter publishing is also coming soon.
Picplz has the potential to take location-based-social-networking to next level with the feature of adding photos, it will be exciting to see the next development in this space, maybe videos or audio – take your pick.
