Planning on pre-ordering an iPad but hate to wait for the 2 weeks delivery time or avoiding the queues at the 27 Apple stores in Britian, here is some good news. DSGI (Dixons Store Group International ) which owns PC World, Currys and Dixons has 60-day exclusive to sell Apple’s tablet computer in 139 stores according to the news leaked to Times by an insider.
A DSGi spokesperson told the Register that “We can confirm that the information in The Times article is correct and Apple will be announcing their distribution plans in the next few days.” .This is not surprising considering that DSGi already operates 52 Apple concessions in stores across the UK, designed to resemble the Apple Store experience.
A 60 days exclusive time frame will give DSGI a heads-up over retailers Comet, Tesco, John Lewis and the Carphone Warehouse who may also stock the device. Demand in UK is expected to be strong, but potential customers have been kept guessing as to where they might buy the iPad.
