Today is the launch day for Apple’s iPhone 4 , unlike almost positive reception and early reviews for previous iPhone models the newest edition device is plagued with issues. Problems with cell phone reception and yellowish discoloration appearing on that new Retina display have emerged.
Some freshly shipped iPhone 4 devices are suffering from defective screens. Users have reported on blogs that their iPhone 4 arrived with faulty displays. The new iPhone 4 devices suffered bad coloration at the bottom corners of the screen. What is ironic is that the new Retina Display on iPhone 4 was the unique selling proposition of iPhone 4.
The other reported issues is with reception, some users have noticed that if they hold the device’s antenna band (the metallic band connecting the front and rear of the phone) in a certain way, they can force the phone to lose reception.
And these are not just stray incidents, Engadget and Gizmodo put out a call to see if others could replicate the issue — and they did. around 20 readers are reporting screen issues of their own, and few are showing variations of the antenna band problem. Apple Stores have replaced units for customers with screen issues, but Apple has yet to acknowledge the reception problem.
