Despite the snags in online pre-ordering iPhone 4 in U.K, the launch day delivery in U.K. of Apple’s iPhone 4 has sold out in 24 hours leaving late pre-orders to wait until July for delivery. As of 11 :00 am BST this morning – when we tried pre-ordering an iPhone 4 – the UK customers will have to wait until July 2 to get their hands on iPhone 4.
As reported by us yesterday, demand was so high for the latest iPhone that the Apple’s servers went down in U.K. and all over the world several times yesterday, causing frustration for many potential purchasers. Apple would not comment on how many handsets had been pre-ordered for delivery or in-store pick-up on June 25th.
AT & T was a bit forthcoming in its statement “”Because of the incredible interest in iPhone 4, today was the busiest online sales day in AT&T history. As of Tuesday afternoon, customers who preorder iPhone 4 moving forward will receive their device on June 25 or later, depending on when the order is placed. We’ll email customers with confirmation once their order is placed, and again when it ships. In addition, we will have devices available on a first-come, first-serve basis in our stores beginning on June 24.””
