Yahoo had been once synonymous with Internet in recent times it has been plagued by dwindling number of visitors and is loosing users to Social Networking websites including its competitor Google’s Buzz and Orkut websites, to curb this Yahoo has announced its integration with Facebook. Select Yahoo services will stream Facebook news feed updates and users of both Yahoo and Facebook would be able to share their updates across both networks.
In changes to begin this week, Yahoo will launch a new service called Yahoo Pulse which will integrated Facebook’s news feeds on the Yahoo homepage and also offer privacy features. Yahoo Pulse service will give real time syncing of updates from Facebook, in future it may include Twitter and other social networks as well.
Yahoo will offer a number of privacy options to the Pulse users, apparently learning a lesson from Facebook’s Privacy backlash. Yahoo has taken a pragmatic approach in tying up with Facebook which is the biggest Social Network rather than trying to re-launch its Social Networking site Yahoo 360 or launch a new one.
