Forty one different books on the “Top Books Paid Software” listing of Apple’s online store were created by a publisher named “mycompany/Thuat Nguyen.” and for many of these titles there are no ratings or reviews. If reports are to be believed a app developer hacked iTunes users accounts and has purchased their own apps using those accounts – making it to the top of the iTunes charts.
As the incident developed it appears to be far more widespread than just that one particular developer and his apps, there are a number of reports of accounts being hacked and used to make purchases on iTunes.
There has been no word from from Apple yet, but the “mycompany” titles have completely vanished from the App Store. We’re not sure whether Apple decided to shut down the operation or the seller pulled them themselves.
