In the hastily summoned press conference  on Friday Steve Jobs offered  no apologies for the iPhone 4’s reception issues and blamed the media for exaggerating , “blown so out of proportion, it’s incredible” he said. Jobs singled out reports from Bloomberg and Gizmodo ( Gizmodo bought an iPhone 4 which was lost by an Apple Engineer in a bar, and now faces legal troubles at Apple’s behest.).The only positive for the customers from the PR exericse to save face is this – Apple is offering a free case to every owner of its iPhone 4 and full refunds to anyone who’s not satisfied.

Not contend with accusing media of going too far,  Apple took a dig at its competitors, Steve Jobs claimed that  you can replicate the left-handed “death grip” bar-dropping problem on the BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, and Samsung Omnia II, and that “phones aren’t perfect”,  he also claims that only 0.55% of people who bought the iPhone 4 have called into AppleCare to complain about the antenna.
