VUDU arrives on Boxee Box

Popular on-demand HD content streaming service VUDU has been available on Boxee desktop software since December. Today Boxee announced an updated firmware which brings VUDU to the Boxee Box.

The VUDU app will give users access to the largest library of HD content in full HD with 5.1 surround sound. In addition to a custom VUDU application, VUDU movies will be integrated into Boxee’s movie library so users can easily search and browse their collection from Boxee’s main menus.

VUDU will be made available as part of the Boxee Box’s latest firmware update which will go out to all user’s within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, users can force an update by going to Settings -> System -> Update to force an update of the software.

We expect to see an additional update next month with the inclusion of Netflix support. The Boxee Box is becoming a serious contender for the traditional set top box. We hope to bring you a review of the product very soon.
