Asus released the 1015PEM at the end of 2010. There are two versions, the 1015PEM (£229.99) and the 1018P (£329.99). We tested the 1015PEM. Not much has changed in the looks department of the Asus Eee PC 1015PEM’s compared to the older Eee PC netbooks. The 1015PEM is a sign post of how far Netbooks have come, with better specifications prices are bound to increase.
Aesthetics:
The 1015PEM we had to review was white with a glossy screen lid. The curvy chassis felt durable yet very lightweight. The LED Backlit screen has a black rim which makes it look elegant against the white keyboard. The keys are responsive and easy to use. The screen is 10.1″ with an optimal resolution of 1024 x 600 which is very bright.
Performance:
Intel’s dual-core Atom N550 processor with 1.5-GHz CPU and 1GB of DDR3 RAM makes running applications on Windows 7 a very smooth experience. The dual-core ensures using multiple applications a responsive and fast process. Battery Life is exceptional we used it for an impressive 10 hours browsing the web and listening to music on Spotify. Network/Wireless data includes Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11bgn Wi-Fi. There are two USB 3 port and one USB 2 port. There’s a healthy amount of disk space at 250GB.

VERDICT:
The ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM looks great and the performance is much better compared to single-core netbooks. The price is decent as well.
The keyboard is slightly restricted, and you don’t get brilliant HD video playback online. For people who want a netbook that’s fast when performing tasks and has a good battery life, then the 1015PEM is the one to go for.
