Nexus 7 sold out in many US Retail Stores

 Google has began shipping units of the first Nexus tablet PC,  Nexus 7 tablet which comes with Android Jelly Bean mobile operating system and starts at $199 and has drawn glowing reviews from major gadget reviewers is now available in the US. Customers who pre-ordered the device online via have received e-mail notification from Google that the tablet has shipped to arrive soon, the tablet PC has also started selling in US stores last Friday.

Going by initial sales reports, consumers are voting with their wallets, multiple US retailers that started offering the Nexus  have reported the device as sold out and they’re now facing supply shortage.

Staples, Office Depot, Sam’s Club and GameStop are some of the stores that list the device as out of stock or back ordered. The tablet PC is not available on Amazon yet.

 

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt, speaking to reporters on Thursday at the Allen & Co conference in Sun Valley, said there was “immense demand” for the Nexus 7 in the first week after it was introduced.
