Facebook yesterday launched a new service named  Facebook Stories at facebookstories.com, a Web site that, according to Facebook, is dedicated to sharing “some of the most extraordinary, quirky, and thought-provoking stories and ideas from people around the world who make up the social graph.” Facebook might be banking on this new service to boost its public opinion and stock price.

Facebook Stories is not unique, it is almost identical in nature to Tumblr’s Storyboard and Twitter Stories , both of which detail how individuals are using those platforms . Tumblr’s is the more robust, with one or more new stories per day, whereas Twitter has published just two three-paragraph stories.

The first video story on the theme Remembering is that of 29-year-old Mayank Sharma from India, who has been using the social networking service to piece back his old life after suffering from Tubercular Meningitis, which erased a large chunk of his memories.
