Switzerland’s national rail operator SBB accused Apple of stealing the iconic look of its station clocks for the iOS 6 operating system used by iPhone and iPad mobile devices. iOS6 includes a clock icon with black and red hands that uses an SBB design created in 1944.

SBB will not take a leaf out of Apple’s  book and sue it for Billions the way Apple has done to its competitors, the two companies will meet to solve the dispute and a court case is unlikely. SBB has allowed companies to use the design under a license.

“We are proud that this icon of clock design is being used by a globally successful company,” Reto Kormann told The Associated Press, but he noted that Apple hadn’t asked for permission before doing so.“We’ve approached Apple and told them that the rights for this clock belong to us,” .
