Apple had released a 2-step verification for Apple accounts last week on the lines of Google’s 2-step verification, and it has created an epic embarrassment for Apple, not unlike Apple Maps fiasco.
The issue was reported by The Verge, who observed that a series of lock screen exploits makes it possible to reset a user’s password using only their email address and birthdate, the only protection against the exploit is to activate the two factor authentication, many users found themselves in line with a three day wait to add the authentication to their accounts.
Apple was quick in fixing the issue, Apple’s iForgot password reset page was back online within few hours,Bloggers have verified that the security hole has been fixed.
