Apple has been pulling all stops to improve its Maps app after the debacle of its Maps app, Apple has reportedly bought crowd-sourced location data company Locationary. Google is continuously improving it’s popular Google Maps app, Google’s acquisition of Waze, the GPS navigation app was a step in this direction.
Locationary is located out of Canada and focuses on improving searching for local areas on maps by tries to eliminate incorrect and out-of-date entries by verifying the same information through multiple sources.
Locationary’s business information management technology Saturn platform manages 175 million business profiles from 253 feeds and repositories according to Locationary’s website.
