Apple and Samsung are engaged in numerous acrimonious and bitter Court battles across the World which has made Apple to buy less components for its devices from the Korean giant with a bulk of it’s parts supply for this year and the next coming from TSMC, that seem to change, the Korea Economic Daily is reporting that Apple will be back to using Samsung as the supplier for the A9 chip in 2015.
A few weeks ago TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing) confirmed a reported deal with Apple to begin producing A-series chips in 2014.
“Samsung Electronics had supplied the AP [application processor] to Apple since 2007 but lost the contract to supply 20 nano AP A8 chips to Apple to Taiwan’s TSMC last year when it was engaged in patent disputes with Apple. Samsung Electronics developed state-of-the-art 14 nano models ahead of its rival TSMC, regaining the order from Apple.” the report added.
