Google’s Gmail playground – Gmail Labs has produced world class email features ever since it was introduced by Google 18 months ago. As has been the tradition earlier, Google picks the most popular features from Gmail Labs and integrates them into Gmail while retiring the experimental features which didn’t quiet perform up to the mark.
Google has integrated the following 6 new features from Labs into Gmail – Search Auto complete; Go to Label, Forgotten Attachment Detector, YouTube Previews, Custom Label Colors and Vacation Dates.
The following 5 features could not make it to Gmail and are being axed – Muzzle, Fixed Width Font, Email Addict, Location in Signature and Random Signature.
Labs is a great approach to innovate and it’s where some of the best minds at Google come together to brainstorm and generate path breaking ideas. Offline email is a brainchild of Labs and has received reviews all over the world. Google is world renowned for its innovation and the credit goes to Google Labs for churning out one great idea after another. Kudos!
