Google TV which was being talked about for some time and which was officially announced during the Google Developers conference held last week at California saw Logitech mentioned as a prominent partner for hardware which was further acknowledged by the peripheral maker through its website.
” To help bring Google TV to life, Logitech will offer the first retail companion box to work with the platform, which will deliver Google TV to the 60 million HDTVs already in U.S. living rooms today. The Logitech companion box will leverage our Harmony remote technology to give you seamless control over how you interact with your content. In addition, the Logitech companion box will include a controller that’s specifically designed to optimize the Google TV experience – combining a compact keyboard, remote control and touchpad. ” said Ashish Arora, Vice President and General Manager, Digital Home Group at Logitech.
Based on the images available on its Website, Logitech’s Google TV Companion Box looks pretty sleek. Specifications should include an Intel CE4100 Atom-based processor running at 1.2GHz, 4GB of onboard storage, 802.11n Wi-Fi, HDMI output, Dolby 5.1 surround sound and two USB ports.
