Apple’s upgrade to iTunes 10 with an improved interface and new logo saw the media management software turn into a fledgling social network called Ping that could rival Facebook and Twitter.
The 160 million of iTunes Store registered users worldwide can now click the ‘Ping’ tab in iTunes, create a profile and begin following and being followed by like-minded music fans. Ping lets you post your opinions and thoughts, just like a status update and share the music you download from iTunes.
The initial feedback on Ping has been generally negative so far.
