iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 users who upgraded to iOS 6 are complaining about  the quickly draining batteries, even on standby some users have complained that the charge is dropping almost 50% in few hours.

Apple Support Boards   are innundated with users complaning about the mess “Used my 4S the same as every other work day. Usually come home with about 60 percent. Came home today with 17 percent.” said commenter Only1jb.

“100 percent at 8am this morning when I took it off the charger. 0 percent within four hours. No calls. No GPS, no Internet use, but battery was dropping one percent every few minutes. I turned off location services, no change.” complained user John Smith 1882.

Some affected users think that the Maps and Passbook app are the cause and turning off location services provides a temporary respite. Last year when iOS 5 was released , iusers who updated from iOS 4 also faced more than usual battery loss.
