On Tuesday, along with the iPad Mini, Apple’s Philip Schiller introduced two new versions of its long-running series of iMac, with 21.5- and 27-inch screens. The new iMacs are 45 percent thinner than the earlier version and measure only 5 mm thick at the edge, and are eight pounds lighter.
The 21.5-inch model has a 1920×1400 pixel display and the 27-inch as a 2560×1440 pixel display. The starting prices for the two computers are US $1,299 and US $1,799, respectively. Apple;s Online store has the availability dates listed as November for the 21-inch model and December for the 27-inch model.
21.5-inch iMac:
- 21.5-inch iMac display: 21.5-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit display with IPS technology; 1920-by-1080 resolution

27-inch iMac:
