Apple reported earnings for first quarter of 2013, it posted a quarterly revenue of $43.6 billion and quarterly net profit of $9.5 billion, Apple earned $10.09 per share on the revenue of $43.60 billion versus $12.30 a share on $39.19 billion a year earlier.

Wavii, the Seattle based startup which allows users find personalized feeds of the news, has been purchased by Google. TechCrunch is reporting that Google purchased Wavii for more than $30 million. Neither Google nor Wavii has confirmed or denied the news.

The twitter feed of news agency Associated Press (AP) was hacked, and “reported” that there was an explosion at The White House, injuring US President Barack Obama. The tweet came around 5 pm BST.

Geeksphone, a start-up phone manufacturer headquartered in Madrid, Spain who were the first company to sell Firefox OS based phones for sale ran out of stock in just few hours according to a report from TechCrunch. The phones named Keon and Peak were retailing for US $119 and $194 respectively.

Google got a rap on its knuckle again for it’s Streetview violation, it was fined 145,000 euros by The Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information a German regulator for collecting wireless network data by its Street View cars. A Malware family called Badnews has been discovered by Lookout Security in Google Play developer accounts, Badnews avoided detection and made its way onto the Google Play store has been downloaded between 2-9 million times according to Lookout .
