Twitter is currently being flooded with messages that “iMessage is down” or “iMessage outage.” The iMessage outage appears to have occurred around 9:00 pm BST. Facebook  posting $1.26 billion in revenues for its third quarter against the analyst estimate of $1.23 billion, earnings per share for the company, meanwhile, came in at $.12 compared to an estimate of $.11. Another rumour came true, Apple’s Philip Schiller unveiled the anticipated 13.3-inch Retina MacBook Pro. The new MacBook Pro is 20 percent thinner than the than the previous generation 13-inch MacBook, and it includes a 2,560-by1,600 Retina display with 29 percent higher color contrast and 75 percent reduced reflection. On Tuesday, along with the iPad Mini, Apple’s Philip Schiller introduced two new versions of its long-running series of iMac, with 21.5- and 27-inch screens. The new iMacs are 45 percent thinner than the earlier version and measure only 5 mm thick at the edge, and are eight pounds lighter. The 21.5-inch model has a 1920×1400 pixel display and the 27-inch as a 2560×1440 pixel display. [...]
