Amazon on Tuesday launched Unity plugins to enable developers integrate in-app purchasing and GameCircle features to their Kindle Fire games and apps. The plugins will be available via its Developer page.

Nokia has launched an iOS 6 maps alternative named Nokia Here mapping application, for iOS devices running iOS 4.3 and up, the iOS version has the same features which are seen on Nokia Windows Mobile OS like nearby places discovery, but there are also crucial components like transit direction that aren’t present in Apple’s Maps app.

Google on Monday announced integration for YouTube that allows YouTube user to link their YouTube channel with a Google+ profile while retaining the channel name. Apple AppStore has reached the landmark of 1 million apps submitted to its App Store since July 2008, according to a tweet byApp Store discovery company Appsfire. The app count includes iOS apps only and doesn’t account for Mac App Store apps.

Apple’s MAC OS X operating system versions follow the pattern of naming after felines, since OS X debuted in 2001 we had Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion.
