China has categorically denied any state involvement in Operation Aurora, the series of cyber attacks that rocked Google and several other technology companies earlier this year. The Ministry of Justice has given its nod to levy fines up to £500K for data protection offences. Unless there are parliamentarian objections (which I doubt will be the case), these fines are all set to become a law with effect from 6th April, 2010.

Are you enjoying high speed downloads on normal sites and then when it comes to downloading torrents you’re getting really slow downloads?
This is probably due to your ISP throttling BitTorrent traffic.
You can see a list of ISP’s that are blocking downloads here

The verdict is out – google (mind the lower case), my personal choice for company of the decade has been named as ‘Word of the Decade’ by the American Dialect Society.
The lower case implies that the word means an internet search and does not refer to the name of the company. Tweet received the ‘Word of the Year’ award for 2009 but was no match up to Google in the Word of the Decade category. [...]
