Amazon today announced that it is finally launching its Android apps Appstore in UK and few other European countries such as Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Coincidentally, Amazon’s rival Barnes & Noble announced three partners for in UK – electronics and home goods seller Argos, and bookshops Blackwells and Foyle’s.

AmazonLocal has been launched in the UK, starting with London with the aim to eventually expand across the UK, it joins the likes of Groupon, Living Social and KGB Deals. So far the service has been US-only.

Amazon’s Cloud Drive is at last available in the UK, after first launching over a year ago in the US. Pricing for the new UK version of Amazon Cloud Drive is identical to that of the US and includes a 5GB free account.

If you recall, the Kindle e-reader recently became the major hit in its category. Kindle is produced by Amazon and, as such, it was the most sold product this year in their store.
