Sky’s parent company British Sky Broadcasting (commonly abbreviated to BSkyB) has announced the acquisition of Virgin Media Television or VMtv for 160 million pounds in an all cash deal, both companies have also entered into a number of agreements providing for the broadcasting of certain Sky standard and high-definition channels on VMtv.

Recent research conducted by Sky HD reveals that the British have wasted nearly £52 Billion on gadgets which they do not know how to use or fully operate. It is astonishing that nearly 50% of the poll audience did not know that in order to get HD video on your HDTV, you need a HD device such as a Blu-ray DVD player.

Patrick Barry, the head of Yahoo’s Connected TV group, announced his staff in a mail sent on the morning of October 12 that he is leaving at the end of the month.
