Google is unhappy with the version 3.0 official YouTube app for Windows Phone which was released last week. Google reportedly sent Microsoft a cease and desist letter today, which The Verge has reported, the lack of ads on the YouTube app for Windows Phone seems to be the primary complaint.

Google unveiled a brand new version of Google Maps at its annual I/O developers conference on Wednesday, this will be the biggest redesign since Google Maps was launched eight years ago.

You can now attach money to your email using Gmail. Google today announced on its commerce blog that it will soon be integrating Google Wallet features into Gmail to allow users to send and receive money.
The feature will be available to those with a Google Wallet account and will initially be available to users in the US.

Google today announced that it’s combining the storage for three of it’s products, Google Drive, Google+ Photos and Gmail, instead of 5GB each, users will get 15GB of space for free. Google is also scrapping away the $2.50 plan that had 25GB of space, instead, the lowest paid plan is $5 for 100GB of storage.

Google has introduced push alert support for apps in Google Chrome browser or Chrome OS. The protocol called Google Cloud Messaging for Chrome is designed to let apps receive notifications from outside Chrome and respond to them more efficiently.

Wavii, the Seattle based startup which allows users find personalized feeds of the news, has been purchased by Google. TechCrunch is reporting that Google purchased Wavii for more than $30 million. Neither Google nor Wavii has confirmed or denied the news.
