Gmail is soon debuting a cooler new way to compose messages in Gmail through a popup window instead of loading a whole new “compose” page. The window will not be a new browser window, but rather an overlay on the Gmail page similar to a Gmail chat window, though the compose version is a bit bigger than the chat window.

Google today announce the much anticipated Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 10 tablet, as well as an increased storage space available on the Nexus 7 tablet while maintaining its pricing. Its Android Jelly Bean operating system also got an update.

The UK’s Court of Appeal has upheld UK High Court’s ruling that Samsung did not copy the iPad with its Galaxy tablet. Britain’s High Court ruled in favor of Samsung, explaining that Samsung’s Galaxy tablet, although Samsung’s products were “very, very similar”, they are simply “not as cool” as the iPad, and can therefore not be confused with Apple’s tablet.

Google unfinished financial results for last quarter were release accidentally far ahead of schedule today on the SEC’s website Google is blaming the financial printer RR Donnelley for this screw up.
Earnings were far less than analysts expected and Google shares immediately plunged as much as 10.5 percent, knocking $26 billion off its market capitalization, By the time trading was halted at 12:50pm [...]

Google today updated Gmail for iOS, which now supports the iPhone 5′s 4-inch display. Instead of seeing black bars at the top and bottom of the app, Gmail users on iPhone 5 will now be able to see a bit more of their inboxes on their iphones now.

Google has rolled out an update to its Google Drive iOS app that atlast lets iOS users edit their Google Drive documents on the go, just as you can already do with the Android app.
That’s not all, iOS users can also view Google presentations on iOS device, this also means that you can now view speaker notes and use full-screen mode for presentations in Google Drive for iOS.

Google was awarded $1,130,350 in fees stemming from its patent battle with Oracle, Californian Judge William Alsup ruled on Tuesday. Google has asked for $4 million for fees related to court appointed expert Dr. James Kearl, as well as electronic document discovery conducted by FTI Consulting.
Oracle had sued Google in August 2010 for $6 billion for widespread infringement of Java related copyrights [...]

According to Canaccord Genuity, Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone has dethroned Apple’s iPhone 4S as the bestselling smartphone in the US in August. Apple’s iPhone 4S has remained at the top of the pile since its introduction last October. iPhone 4S sales in the US had been dipping in anticipation of the new iPhone launch, and the Galaxy S III’s has managed to capitalise on that.
