Apple has reportedly bought Poly9, a canada based online mapping company, and has relocated most of the firm’s employees to Apple’s Silicon Valley, California offices, If reports by Cyberpresse and The Sun are to be believed, Poly9 would be the second mapping company Apple purchased after its acquisition of Placebase, a company that produced a maps application programming interface [...]

United States of America is upgrading its GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites in a bid to improve the accuracy of the technology and prevent outages.Their are currently 24 satellites and 30 new satellites are getting added 18 new satellites are being built by Boeing’s Space and Intelligence Systems and 12 by Lockheed Martin. Google added a fully featured GPS satellite navigation service to its Google Maps application for mobile phones running its Android operating system 1.6 and higher, including the Nexus One.
Google Maps Navigation which is an internet-connected GPS navigation system with voice guidance which was until now available only in the United States on Android phones.
