Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Play edition phones have started getting an OTA (over-the-air) upgrade to Android 4.3 today evening.

Taiwanese phone maker HTC has announced a revenue and profit warnings for Q3 2013 which says that HTC may make its first ever loss in 16 years – first time since it’s inception.

HTC officially unveiled it’s much rumoured Butterfly S smartphone on Wednesday at the expected launch event in Taiwan.
HTC Butterfly carries the now almost standard 5-inch 1080p display, which is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, the same one which is found in HTC One. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD.

HTC’s First smartphone which was the first flagship Android phone for Facebook Home, now is priced at less than one US Dollar. US carrier AT&T has discounted the price of the HTC First from $99.99 to $0.99, with a two-year agreement.

Surprise, Huawei had the third largest market share in the global smartphone industry in the fourth quarter. While the Chinese manufacturer trailed Samsung and Apple, it did unveil the Huawei Ascend P1 S, which has a 6.68mm thin design to be the thinnest smartphone made.

U.S. District Court Judge Lucy Koh who ruled in Apple-Samsung case said that while details of pricing and royalty rates for patents from Apple-HTC settlement should be kept under wraps from public view, the same does not hold true for the rest of the agreement.

A U.S. Court has directed Apple to share full details of the 10-year settlement it struck with HTC recently. Apple had previously provided Samsung with a heavily redacted version of the deal’s terms that removes 33 words from the Apple and HTC settlement on November 10, agreeing a 10-year licensing deal — the terms of which have not been publicly disclosed.
