Apple will launch a Retina iPad mini and a slimmer iPad by the end of 2013 according to Bloomberg who quotes sources familiar with the Cupertino company’s plans.

IDC has released its quarterly report on the smartphone market and it’s bad news for Apple, world over shipments of tablets came down in Q2 of 2013 to 32% of market share because Apple did not release a new model of its trend setting iPad, although Apple retains top tablet spot and shipped more tablets than Samsung, ASUS, Lenovo and Acer combined.

Apple announced its quarterly earnings for Q3 2013 on Wednesday, it recorded revenue of US$35.3 billion and quarterly net profit of $6.9 billion and an earnings per share of $7.47. Analysts expected the sales to be around $35.02 with a earnings per share $7.32.

Apple is testing larger display sizes potential future models for both the iPad and the iPhone according to a report from Wall Street Journal which quotes unnamed sources.

America’s Boston University is suing Apple claiming that Apple ripped off a one of it’s professor’s patented electronic semiconductor and used it in iPhone 5, iPad and MacBook Air.

Apple on Monday releases second build of its iOS 7 beta 2 to developers, iOS 7 was unveiled during WWDC 2013 earlier this month, the first version left out iPad support, which is included in this beta along with a functional Voice Memos along with performance improvements and bug fixes.
