Apple said yesterday that the white version of iPhone 4 will not be available until later this year. During the iPhone 4 press conference last Friday, Steve Jobs said that the white phone would be available by late July.

During iPhone 4 press conference last week, Steve Jobs said that Apple would provide free cases to anyone who buys the iPhone 4 before September 30, the free case offer includes a choice of either Apple’s bumper or a third-party case. As part of that offer, Apple said it would offer refunds to iPhone 4 users who had already bought bumpers from Apple.

Nokia was quick to rebuff Steve Jobs claim that even Nokia phones (among others) faced the ‘death grip’ issue. Nokia repeated its stance that the freedom to hold the phone naturally was important. After the initial heart rendering iPhone 4 commercial few months ago, Apple has posted four new TV commercials to entice people to buy the new iPhone 4, heavily promoting FaceTime, a feature typical to the new smartphone which allows device owners to carry out video calls over a Wi-Fi network.

Apple has approved the new Fring app for iOS4.
