Haven’t you heard of Google Voice? It is the best way to manage all your phone numbers via a single number. This phone number rings any phones (work, mobile, home, etc). You can even place a set of rules to restrict who is calling and when. As you can imagine, moving away from the traditional phone numbers is quite difficult for most people. Some have simply ported their mobile number to Google Voice, [...]

Apple will soon launch a very interesting tablet computer to the public early next year. It looks like the tablet will be first shipped to Australia and then all around the world. Apple is already in negotiations with different media companies about including their content on the future tablet. It looks like the new device will be larger than the iPhone but small enough to fit in a handbag. However, [...]

I know I posted one or two articles about the new Motorola Droid in which I called it an iPhone killer. This is still my opinion. However, it should not reach a fever pitch. I know that the Droid is not only impressive, but amazing. It is indeed a strong competitor to Apple’s iPhone but we need to think of it as more of a new device than an iPhone killer. There is always a hype leading up to any [...]

The title says it all. However, is this so? During Apple’s Q4 earnings call today, someone asked what does Apple think about its increasing competition. The answer was at least bold. “They’re still catching up with the first iPhone.” – Tim Cook, Apple’s COO. There are a lot of Android phones coming out and it looks like Apple has a very clear stance. They think the new smartphones are behind [...]

If you have heard the buzz, Motorola is rumored to work on an unannounced smartphone. This interesting device should come out somewhere between late October and early December. Specs include a very potent OMAP3430 processor, which is, I might add, very powerful! Other features are a 5 megapixel camera (a very good choice), a slideout QWERTY keyboard , and, of course, the stylish touchscreen. The new [...]

If you remember, AT&T banned VoIP software from the iPhones. This was very strange since it allowed this technology on its other phones. Well, good news! AT&T just announced that it now allows VoIP software for the iPhones and that it will not restrict it in any way. However, there is a little problem. AT&T is considering to allow Google Voice on the iPhone alongside Vonage, Skype, and [...]

Google and Verizon Wireless stated that their recent Android partnership will start showing some results in a few weeks. It also looks like the wireless carrier’s cellphones will run Google Voice. This really differentiates then from the iPhone. And these aren’t just words. According to Lowell McAdam, Verizon Wireless’s chief executive, the first two phones running Android will be ready this [...]

Anyone who uses a Twitter application on the iPhone has no doubt been “my app’s better than yours” debate at some point. I know I’ve been there a few times. There’s a whole bunch of them out there, and to be perfectly honest they all do pretty much the same thing, just in slightly different ways.
Well we think Tweetie 2 is about to change all that. We’ve been fortunate [...]

The last week of August was a busy time for Apple maybe because it was the silly season and all the journos and bloggers were on the holidays, and maybe because it was HOT, which seems like a funny time to release Snow Leopard.
Release it they did and boy oh boy, were we all excited, I threw it on to my machine as quick a lightening, a mere 37 minutes and bam! I was standing [...]
