Apple’s MAC OS X operating system versions follow the pattern of naming after felines, since OS X debuted in 2001 we had Cheetah, Puma, Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion. The current version, OS X 10.8, is known as Mountain Lion. Apple may have decided that OS 10.9 will be called Lynx, according to blog site AppleScoop.

Apple recent Mac update for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion released this week removes its Java plugin from all OS X browsers.
Apple’s support page provides more details :

After the recent announcement of new upgrades to iPhone and Safari 5, how could Apple leave out it iconic Mac series untouched by upgrades, on Tuesday it released a new Mac mini computer with an HDMI port and faster processors and several new hardware features.

Hosted in San Fran, this year’s Apple Worldwide Developers Conference will be hosted on June 7 – 11.
It was reported earlier in the month that Apple had reserved June 22 at YBCA, it was rumoured that this may be the date for WWDC, but industry analysts insist this date was too late in the month. Apple tend to host WWDC in early June.
