Give way, iPhones and BlackBerrys, smartphone customers in U.S. have voted with their wallets and picked Android as their favorite in the second quarter of this year according to NPD , a market research company. Earlier NPD survey has shown Android-based smart phones outselling the iPhone in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2010.

Android is growing fast, we knew that, but, this fast – Android Market is now home to more than 100,000 apps and has surpassed 1 Billion downloads. Simply superb.
Google has not officially confirmed this but AndroLib has revealed that the Android Market is now stores more than 100,000 apps.They also claim that more than 1 billion apps have been downloaded from the store. [...]
