The largest company in the world, Microsoft, reported disastrous results for the April to June quarter. Their profits went down by almost a third. Yahoo is continuing to show signs of weakness and vulnerability, with Q2 earning reports just being released they are showing a 13% decrease in earnings on the same period as last year (1.14 billion dollars from 1.35 billion dollars). We all know about the world’s most popular smartphone operating system, Symbian. Starting in October, Symbian will provide one of the world’s largest mobile applications (or apps) database. So Microsoft joined the twitter party today. Although they already had accounts for the various departments, today’s the day they finally started Tweeting from the /Microsoft account. @Microsoft is being managed by 4 people from the Communications Team.

Microsoft have announced, they will be releasing the much anticipated new operating system on October 22nd, Windows 7 is going to be available to all new computers from launch and on a cd for other pcs.
It’s been alleged that free upgrades to windows 7 will be available to pc buyers before launch, which could be as early as August.

We just received two brand spanking new screenshots of Microsoft’s new search engine. Not yet launched, the Microsoft Live Search replacement will go by the name of Bing.
Although we find landscape pictures of London’s Tower Bridge and the Dover Cliffs very nice to look at, we’re not sure that huge backgrounds are a good idea for a search engine page. Maybe Microsoft should take a [...]

Two years after being available in the US/Canada, Microsoft Surface has finally reached British shores.
Retailing for a whopping £10,000 means we’re probably not going to see them popping up all over the place any time soon, unless you often stay in 5 star hotels (Sheraton Hotel group use Surface tables for self-check ins by tapping your credit cared on the table – creepy) .

It’s hard to believe policies like this still exist, this is the 21st Century for goodness sake. But apparently, no one told Microsoft.
A woman has been banned from the Xbox Live service for including her sexuality in her status on the social platform.
