Google is unhappy with the version 3.0 official YouTube app for Windows Phone which was released last week. Google reportedly sent Microsoft a cease and desist letter today, which The Verge has reported, the lack of ads on the YouTube app for Windows Phone seems to be the primary complaint.

The Windows Phone marketplace now has 145,000 apps up from Microsoft’s figure of 120,000 apps in October 2012. The fact was mentioned by Microsoft in a post announcing the Nokia Lumia 928.

Microsoft has on Monday launched Skype video calling features for Outlook.com, which allows users to make video calls directly from their Browsers. Users here in the UK will be the first to recieve the feature. PC sales registered “steepest decline ever in a single quarter” by falling as much as 14 percent this quarter on a year over year basis according to a report by IDC, who had earlier forecasted a 7.7 percent decline, this is the biggest decline since IDC started tracking the PC market nearly two decades ago.

Rumours of Microsoft prepping Office for iOS and Android has been surfacing at regular intervals, Microsoft repeatedly kept denying those were real, according to a fresh report by ZDNet Microsoft’s Office app will not be on iOS or Android mobile devices until mid-2014.

Microsoft has quietly made a change to the resolution requirements for Windows 8 devices which is quite significant as it will enable hardware manufacturers to put Windows 8 mobile OS on smaller 7-inch tablets, enabling Windows 8 to take on devices running Android and iOS.

Starting today Microsoft will begin rolling out Windows 7 SP1 automatically through the pre-installed Windows Update to Windows 7 users who still are running the RTM (release to manufacturing) version without SP1 installed.

Android tablets will continue to grow and cut into Apple’s worldwide tablet market share according to Research firm IDC’s 2013 forecast for worldwide tablet shipments.
Tablets powered by Android Operating System will reach to 49 percent of the market in 2013, while iPad’s share will drop to 46 percent. In 2012, Apple commanded 51 percent, compared with Google’s 46 percent.
