The European Commission had made a preliminary antitrust finding against Google’s Motorola Mobility,it has sent Motorola, a list of complaints on how it had abused its market position by seeking and enforcing a patent-related injunction against Apple.

Google today released Q4 2012 earnings, last quarter it made US $14.42 billion in consolidated revenues, up 36 percent from last year, and $2.89 billion in net income. Consolidated revenues would have been $15.24 billion had Motorola Home been included.

Apple may be going with guns blazing at Samsung in the patent war, but, it’s open for a truce when it comes to other competitors, after reaching a global settlement with HTC in multiple patent related cases Apple and Motorola are currently in talks to resolve their several patent disputes.

According to Canaccord Genuity, Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone has dethroned Apple’s iPhone 4S as the bestselling smartphone in the US in August. Apple’s iPhone 4S has remained at the top of the pile since its introduction last October. iPhone 4S sales in the US had been dipping in anticipation of the new iPhone launch, and the Galaxy S III’s has managed to capitalise on that.

The Motorola Xoom is an impressive piece of tech.
The preferred size of a tablet is quite a personal thing. The Xoom being somewhere between that of larger tablets like the iPad, and smaller tablets such as Dell’s Streak 7 is quite a good place to be. However, as with many tablets, the weight is still an issue. Holding the 730 grams Xoom in one hand for any period of time can become a strain.

Give way, iPhones and BlackBerrys, smartphone customers in U.S. have voted with their wallets and picked Android as their favorite in the second quarter of this year according to NPD , a market research company. NTP Corporation has filed a lawsuit against six leading cell phone makers for infringing on its patents for delivering email to cell phones. The companies against whom cases were filed are Apple , Google , Microsoft , Motorola , HTC and LG. NTP claims that the companies are infringing eight of NTP’s patents related to the delivery of email over a wireless network.
