Samsung is the top selling brand in Europe at the moment, a part of the credit goes to aggressive pricing in a region hit by economic pressures and the successful launch of the latest in Galaxy series Galaxy S3 in May according to Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, which bases its conclusions on more than 1 million of interviews with consumers every month.

Apple successfully convinced a London court today to postpone Judge Colin Birss’s order which requires Apple to post to its Web site and a number of British newspapers a notice explaining that Samsung’s Galaxy tablets do not infringe the iPad’s design. The order is postponed until October, when Apple will have a chance to appeal it.

Samsung shipped 52.1 million smartphones, double the number of iPhones shipped by its leading rival Apple in the second quarter of 2012 according to estimates by Juniper Research. Samsung’s numbers were mainly due to its flagship phone Galaxy S3 which achieved sales of 10 million in June.

Apple’s iPad accounted for 68.3 percent of global tablet shipments last quarter according to Strategy Analytics. Global tablet shipments grew 67 percent annually in Q2 2012,that’s up nearly 10 percent from the fourth quarter of 2012, and up 7 percent year-on-year.

UK court gave a ruling last week that Samsung’s Galaxy tablets don’t infringe Apple’s registered designs, that iPad maker Apple should publish a notice on its U.K. website and in British newspapers alerting people to a ruling that Samsung Electronics Co. didn’t copy designs for the iPad according to a report by Bloomberg.

Apple’s bad luck in UK courts continue, after losing a patent case against HTC recently, Apple lost another patent skirmish, this time with Samsung. UK High Court Judge ruled that Samsung tablets don’t infringe Apple patents. High Court of England and Wales ruled that three of Samsung’s Galaxy touch-screen tablet products don’t infringe Apple’s patents.
