Facebook’s announced it’s Q2 2013 earnings today, the results are much better than expected thanks to a massive increase in mobile advertising, it reported its best fiscal quarter to date with revenues of US $1.813 billion and a net profit of US $ 333 million against expectations of $1.62 billion revenue.

Twitter allows popular individuals to verify their Twitter profiles to avoid fake profiles through verification check marks, Facebook is following Twitter’s lead and have on Wednesday announced Verified Pages feature, which will also make it easier for users to find the official account of celebrities and prominent people they want to follow.

Facebook has a total of 83 million accounts on the website which are bogus. It accounts for 8.7% of the total users, of that 8.7%, 4.8% are duplicate accounts, 2.4% are user-misclassified accounts and 1.5% are “undesirable” accounts or simply put – spam. This was revealed through Facebook’s form 10-Q filing with the US SEC for the quarterly period that ended last June 30, 2012.

It’s about time Facebook – more than four months since it introduced the Timeline design for desktop, Facebook has started rolling out the Timeline design for pages to its mobile versions this week.
Earlier the mobile version of Facebook Pages would display only the profile picture for the Page, along with the category and amount of likes the page had along with a Like button.
