Yahoo has just announced through a tweet on Wednesday that they have purchased GhostBird Software, the makers of advanced iOS photography apps, KitCam and PhotoForge and will be integrated with Flickr.
GhostBird has said that no further development will be done on either app, and they don’t intend to support new versions of iOS in an announcement on their website.

Tumblr has expanded the it’s sponsored posts to it’s web dashboards, it was introduced to its mobile apps last month. Users will be able to re-blog the ads like follow and share the ads directly from their dashboard, the sponsors posts will be marked with a dollar sign so the users know they are paid posts.

Tumblr is famously known for animated gifs and nsfw posts, since Yahoo’s acquisition rumours started last week, analysts have been predicting user discontent and crackdown on nasty posts. Even before the news became official on Monday, 72,000 users migrated from Tumblr to WordPress according to WordPress’s founder Matt Mullenweg’s blog post.

The worst kept tech secret of last week is true – Microblogging website Tumblr is being acquired by Yahoo. Marissa Mayer announced the deal today morning along with a “promise not to screw it up.” Yohoo! is coughing $1.1 billion for Tumblr, “substantially all of which is payable in cash,” Yahoo said.

Yahoo has announced that it had acquired the trendy news reading app Summly, along with its seventeen year old London based founder and entrepreneur Nick D’Aloisio.
Summly is an app that uses an algorithm to pull out relevant information from news articles and turns them into neat paragraphs that fit on an iPhone screen, while also linking to the full article.
