Yahoo.com is starting to roll out a new front page, the redesigned homepage was announced in a blog post by Yahoo’s CEO Marissa Mayer.
The new look has been described as being ‘more intuitive and personal’. Yahoo expects to roll out this revamped homepage in the US over the next few days. The UK availability has not been yet announced.

Yahoo launched a new version of Yahoo Mail, making the popular email service faster and cleaner, with a consistent look across all devices.

More than 450,000 Yahoo Voice usernames and unencrypted passwords were stolen from Yahoo. Hacker outfit D33ds Company claimed credit for the attack , which was carried out through a union-based SQL injection and exposed 453,492 plain text login credentials.

Yahoo has rolled out refreshed search engine favoring news and entertainment related searches for Yahoo U.S. domain. When you visit search.yahoo.com and search for entertainment or news-related topics, you ll get to see a box with vertical text tabs for different options – Videos, Images and Twitter. Older version of Yahoo Mail
Yahoo has announced the launch of a cleaner, faster and more social version of Yahoo Mail. Blake Irving, Yahoo’s executive vice president and chief products officer, launched the new design at Yahoo’s headquarters here during an event called “Product Runway.”

Twitter users have been hit by a phishing attack, the direct messages sent out say something along the lines of “This You????”, “hey, i’ve been having better sex and longer with this here” or “LOL this is funny” followed by a link to a phishing site that looks like twitter which then asks you to enter your twitter credentials in.

Patrick Barry, the head of Yahoo’s Connected TV group, announced his staff in a mail sent on the morning of October 12 that he is leaving at the end of the month. It looks like he plans to “move on to new projects.” Josh Jacobs is also leaving although there is no apparent connection between him and Patrick. Josh is the head of ad technology platforms.

It looks like Yahoo collaborated with Iran during the election protests, releasing 200,000 email addresses and names of people who have or had blogs. When Iranians protested on the streets, the authorities blocked or restricted access to many Internet sites, including Yahoo and Google. While Google’s problem was solved in less than 48 hours, Yahoo representatives had to meet with Iranian authorities. [...]

Yahoo is continuing to show signs of weakness and vulnerability, with Q2 earning reports just being released they are showing a 13% decrease in earnings on the same period as last year (1.14 billion dollars from 1.35 billion dollars).
